Nollywood Star Storms Streets In Bra To Protest Strike By University Lecturers

One of Nollywood’s controversial actors Uche Maduagwu has drawn public attention after he stormed the streets in his red bra to protest against the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities in Nigeria.

This was after( ASUU) members declared a one-month strike which started on February 14, 2022, some of the lecturer’s demands include an increase in the allowance of public university lecturers earned, improved funding of state universities, and promotion arrears.

As the strike has exceeded eight months now, and the controversial actor Uche Maduagwu has taken to the streets with his red bra to express his disapproval against the ongoing strike as he called on the Federal Government to end the strike to enable University students go back to the lecture halls.

The actor has now joined some concerned students to protest against the strike as he was captured in his red bra with a placard calling on the Federal Government to call off the strike for students.

In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in Abuja met behind closed doors with the leadership of the House of Representatives over the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The spokes person for the Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, described the meeting with the president as fruitful one.

He revealed that, the President had pledged to look into the House’s recommendations aimed at resolving the ongoing strike embarked upon by the university lecturers over eight months ago.
